Dr. Deepti is an Associate Professor at the Regional Centre for Biotechnology. Her expertise lies in the area of Structural Biology.
She earned her PhD degree from the National Institute of Immunology and carried out postdoctoral studies as a Jane Coffin Childs Fellow at the Rockefeller University, NYC, USA.
Her team employs an integrated approach, involving structural tools, biophysical techniques, biochemical methods and functional in vivo assays to investigate the structures and functions of important drug targets in pathogenic bacteria.
The knowledge obtained is used for in-silico screening of ligand databases for structure assisted drug discovery and for development of inducible expression systems that are sensitive to the presence of small molecules.
She has more than 25 publications in the journal of international repute. She is recipient of Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award from Department of Biotechnology, GOI.
